Manufacturing and Engineering
Engineering – Accu-Steel
Cover Buildings are independently designed by a licensed professional
engineer to meet the International Building Code (IBC), the
American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Uniform
Building Code (UBC) in your geographical location. Accu-Steel
Cover Buildings Rafters are designed and manufactured to allow
the rafter centers to be adjusted to meet the exact loading
required in your location. This innovative feature allows
Accu-Steel to offer buildings that meet the customer’s
exact needs at the best possible price. The adjustable rafter
center feature also allows for conveyors and augers to be
attached directly to the rafters. This allows for economical
loading of bulk materials into buildings without the need
for conveyor towers. Another innovative design that Accu-Steel
has developed is the Rub Rail. The Rub Rail is a building
purlin placed on the outside of the base plate of the truss
rafter. The Rub
Rail provides a smooth consistent stand off for
the cover in wall mount applications and gives more stability
in ground mount uses at the base plates.
Accu-Steel Inc. supplies reactions at the
base plate for all Accu-Steel Cover Buildings on the installation
prints at no additional charge. The reactions on Accu-Steel
Cover Building prints are necessary for engineers to correctly
calculate and supply foundation designs. This allows for efficient
foundation engineering that provides value to Accu-Steel customers.
Accu-Steel Inc. can also supply an Engineer’s
Wet Seal on the installation drawings for the state where
the building is located. The
Engineering Seal on Accu-Steel prints provides proof that your
complete building (including base plates, purlins, and end
walls) at the elevation of your foundation in your location
has been reviewed by a licensed professional engineer of record
for your state.
Components – Accu-Steel
Cover Building Trusses use steel square tubing rated at 50
KSI yield and 55 KSI tensile strength. Accu-Steel’s
covers are produced from five layers of woven
polyethylene fabric or Poly-Vinyl-Chloride (PVC). Accu-Steel
offers woven polyethylene material in the weight of 14.0 oz. All five layers of woven polyethylene
have been treated with Ultra-Violet (UV) stabilizers and can
be combined with a Fire Resistance (FR) treatment. There
are many colors to choose from including clear and blackout
fabric. Accu-Steel’s woven polyethylene covers absorb
sounds for a quiet interior and allow sunlight in the building.
Accu-Steel Cover Building end
walls are made from galvanized cold-formed channel or rectangular
structural tubing. Cold-formed channel or tubing
allows the end wall to be completely engineered and ready
for any type of commercial door, ventilation system, HVAC,
or other end wall option. There are many other components
that make up an Accu-Steel Cover Buildings. Accu-Steel continually
researches these components to insure engineering properties,
corrosion resistance, and functionality in all the products
Accu-Steel Inc. produces.
Coatings
Hot Dip Galvanizing – Accu-Steel
products are designed
to be hot dip galvanized. Accu-Steel Cover Buildings use
a Hot Dip Galvanized finish after the manufacturing and welding process
is completed (click here for image). The Hot Dip Galvanized
flow through process gives Accu-Steel parts a 3.9-mils of
zinc plating on the outside, inside and over the completed
welds. Hot Dip Galvanizing
gives the maximum protection on the inside of
the Truss Rafters Tubes for use in corrosive environments.
Accu-Steel Cover Building products are Hot Dip Galvanized
to ASTM-A-123 Standards.
Painted Finish – Accu-Steel
Cover Buildings also offers Powder Coat painting as an option
to the Hot Dipped Galvanized Finish. The Powder Coat electrostatic
painting is offered in many colors. The painted finish will
not protect the metal components in an Accu-Steel Cover Building
as well as a Hot Dip Galvanized finish, but will provide a
less expensive option to the Hot Dip Galvanizing. Powder Coated
products from Accu-Steel Inc. will be eligible for structure
warranty as long as the structure is not used to store corrosive
materials such as salt or fertilizer where Hot Dipped Galvanized
is recommended.
