Accu-Steel is a leading supplier of grain buildings. Accu-Steel grain buildings provide excellent inside clearance for equipment or building liners without requiring the expense of a high wall foundation. Our buildings increase storage capacity and reduce the overall cost per bushel. You have access to your grain anytime and can fill or empty your building without regard to the weather. When the building is not filled with grain it is an excellent machinery storage facility or warehousing facility. Many customers are securing their anhydrous ammonia tanks or other equipment in our buildings when the building is not filled with grain.
Accu-Steel Grain Buildings are superior to outside grain piles for several reasons. This storage option is the lowest cost solution and provides the most flexibility for year round licensed grain warehousing when compared to vertical or outside storage. Accu-Steel Grain Buildings create an air space between the grain and the bottom cover. This space allows for real air movement in the grain pile, instead of needing to constantly run fans to simply hold down a tarp instead of protecting grain quality.
It has been said there are two types of grain piles: Those that have lost their cover and those that are going to. With an Accu-Steel Grain Building, there is no back-up power generation required to keep the tarp secure in a power failure.

You also have greater flexibility in monitoring the grain condition in an Accu-Steel Grain Building. If an undesirable condition occurs in the grain, you can plan ahead and manage the issue instead of removing a tarp in unfavorable conditions. Since you have access to the inside of the building, you will have no surprises when it is time to empty the building.
Accu-Steel Grain Buildings provide economical old crop storage that allows higher cost vertical storage to handle the incoming new crop. This type of grain storage allows you to have a quality source of grain during the harvest season that does not affect the flow of the incoming new crop.
When grain is ready to be taken out of the building, it can be picked up in a controlled environment with minimal equipment and labor. This situation is advantageous compared to an outside grain pile when the tarp is removed and it is becomes a race against the elements to recover millions of bushels of grain to avoid weather damage. Compared to a temporary pile an Accu-Steel Grain Building will pay for itself in increased labor efficiency, reduced loss, warehousing flexibility and long life of the building.
Even in years when flat storage may not be required due to size or marketing of the crop, an Accu-Steel Grain Building will remain productive and useful to your operation.
Introducing new "Beehive" technology from Accu-Steel
In 2009 Accu-Steel developed and patented a permanent, circular grain pile replacement building. Because of the shape we dubbed the new design the "Beehive." We found out that this building did not offer an economic advantage to other options for our customers. However, we were able to apply this technology to our traditional building at a tremendous benefit to our customers.
We are applying the "Beehive" technology to our traditional buildings and they offer significant benefits to to customers. Including:
- Being able to apply up to 15' of pile depth above the top of the foundation connection.
- Eliminates wasted height in the building and optimizes the volumetric space in the building
- Supports the weight of conveyors and catwalks
- Our cover system allows for a weather tight ridge venting system
- Enables positive air and eliminates the need to run the fans non-stop in frozen weather
Below are the profiles of our grain buildings with "Beehive" technology. You will note that it shows the options and the grain capacity for each option. If you have additional questions or would like to speak with someone about our buildings, please call us at 1-877-338-6936 or click here and we will be in contact with you soon.
Beehive Profiles
All of the capacity calculations below are based on corn with a 22 degree angle of repose.
If you have an existing bunker, we have designed a set of buildings specifically to fit over your existing infrastructure with minimal disruption. This design eliminates the annual replacement of tarps, the safety risk of managing piles and the need to continually run fans to keep the tarp on.
